East High School Principal’s father Dr. Luis Hinojosa was a gifted physician and gave excellent care to hundreds of patients over his lifetime. He’d retired but reentered the profession last year to treat Covid patients, and then passed away from the disease. Principal Hinojosa was extremely close to his father and was looking for a way to celebrate his life. An East letter jacket to a deserving student helped do just that. Embroidered inside the jacket is Dr. Hinojosa’s name, ensuring that his legacy lives on. And East student RJ Davis was incredibly touched and wears the jacket with pride.
