In his work life, Michael led HR for several large corporations throughout the USA. A consummate people person and PrincipalsConnect volunteer, Michael helped find teachers and lent his leadership advice. So, when Principal of Hogan Prep Eddie Wright came to us with a vision of finding internships for all his students, Michael was ready to take on the challenge.
Michael has introduced Eddie to job fairs and potential employers. PrincipalsConnect also funded two Hogan students through the Working For Youth program, which is an initiative that is creating a central internship hub for employers and students. They are targeting students from the five highest crime rate zip codes and modeling their program after Omaha, where the crime rate decreased by over 75% when youths had jobs.
