The nation is experiencing a teacher crisis and Kansas City is at the epicenter. Half of teachers leave the profession within five years. The number of students enrolled in teaching courses has declined by 30% in the past decade. Plus, Missouri is #49 in the US for average starting teacher salaries. COVID negatively accelerated trends as well, and many educators have claimed classroom behavior is the worst it has been.
