When PrincipalsConnect volunteer Judy Burge heard that Principal Leah Starr was short a front office person, she jumped in to help a few days each week. “I’ve enjoyed meeting staff and teachers and gaining a deeper understanding of the expansive role played by our principals.”
PrincipalsConnect and Judy organized a group who comes weekly to laminate teaching materials for Trailwoods teachers. They’ve dubbed themselves the “Laminators'” and teachers are so appreciative that they can focus on teaching, not making copies. “Laminating is a teacher’s love language,” one Trailwoods teacher commented when she saw the group making flashcards. Volunteers Susan Vann, Doranne Hudson, Debbie Smith, Katie Levi and Carol Hallquist look forward to their time catching up while they laminate and make copies.
