Teacher Retention and Recruitment A Significant Concern

By December 20, 2021 No Comments

Missouri’s Assistant Commissioner of Teacher Quality, Paul Katnik, recently spoke to PC volunteers about the perilous state of teaching in Missouri.  Missouri ranks #49 in the nation in minimum starting pay, approximately 25% less than surrounding states. There’s been a  nearly 30% decrease in students enrolling in education college classes and a third of Missouri’s teachers have taught for less than five years.  We are developing a targeted plan to help in the Kansas City area.  Stay tuned for how you can get involved.
