PrincipalsConnect Adviser Secures Braille Books for Faxon Elementary

By December 23, 2018 December 18th, 2019 No Comments

Principals Connect Adviser, Martha Gershun, recently ordered braille books for students at Faxon Elementary.  She worked with Principal Kathleen Snipes and the school’s special education teacher to identify students needs, one being resources for visually impaired students.  When Martha delivered the books to the school she was able to connect with three of the students who would use them.  She said, “They loved the books!  It was fun to watch the students ‘read’ with their fingers, and one of the girls with some vision could look at the very large pictures, too.”  She has more braille resources to deliver in January and is collaborating with Principal Snipes to find other ways to support the school in 2019.
